Starting of Academic Registrations in Home Schooling for the Academic Year 2011/2012

 

Abu Dhabi Education Council announces the starting of registrations for new and former students in Home Schooling, for the academic year 2011/2012, as follows:

 

Home Schooling (from 7th Grade till 12th Grade)

 

1.         Registration Date:

Registration in home schooling classes begins on Sunday 09/25/2011 until Thursday 10/20/2011.

 

2.        Eligible Categories:

Holders of all citizenships in the UAE may register in home schooling.

 

3.        Admission Age:

The age term adopted at adult learning centers applies to those who wish to enroll in home schooling .

 

4.       Registration Documents

·         UAE and GCC citizens: A valid passport copy (for UAE and GCC nationals) and a copy of the individual civil record (for UAE nationals). As for the other citizenships, applicants must submit a valid passport copy and a valid residence permit.

·         A copy of the Certificate of Birth or an official abstract thereof.

·         Two passport photos.

·         A copy of the student ID card based on the eSIS program.

·         A letter of no objection issued by the employer allowing the employee to enroll in home schooling and mentioning the address of the employer.

·         For those who wish to register in 12th grade and who hold academic certificates outside the UAE, shall submit a letter by the Ministry of Education in such countries attesting that these applicants were not granted 12th grade certificates.

 

5.        Academic Certificates:

Students, who studied in UAE public schools, adult learning centers, private schools, or vocational schools, are admitted upon submitting the following certificates:

A certificate attesting they passed the last academic class

A certificate certified by the school attesting they dropped school (A certificate issued and certified by the school or center principal is sufficient)

As for students holding academic certificates issued outside the UAE (GCC and Arab Countries) are admitted as per a certificate attesting they passed the last academic class, reservation made for students registering for 11th and 12th grades who shall submit the following certificates:

For students in 11th grade, they are admitted upon submitting two certificates attesting they passed the 9th and 10th grades.

For students in 12th grade, they are admitted upon submitting three certificates attesting they passed the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades.

a.        Equivalency of academic certificates issued in GCC and Arab countries is performed at the adult learning section, education offices.

b.       Equivalency of academic certificates issued in foreign countries for education purposes, is performed at the Evaluation and Exams Administration, Ministry of Education.

At all events, all certificates issued outside the UAE shall be certified as follows:

-       Ministry of Education or the Educational Zone, for students holding academic certificates issued in GCC.

-       Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and UAE Embassy in the country where academic certificates were issued, for students holding certificates issued in other foreign countries.

 

 

6.       Repeating 12th Grade for Better Grades

UAE nationals, holders of decrees issued by the UAE President or Vice-President, spouses of UAE nationals, and GCC nationals, who wish to improve their grades after passing the 12th grade in the UAE, are admitted in the 12th grade.

They shall submit a certified copy of the academic certificate attesting they passed the 12th grade or a certified academic transcript.

 

7.        Registration Procedure:

For a registration appointment, visit Abu Dhabi Education Center website: www.adec.ac.ae, on 09/18/2011, and follow these instructions:

a.        Book a registration appointment and stick to it (Click Here) .

b.       Upload and fill the registration application form. (Click Here)

c.        Print out the registration application form and attach the required documents.

d.       Print out and bring with you the appointment card, the registration form, and the required documents.

e.       Refer to the Customer Service Center, at the educational Regional Office (Zone), according to the determined date and time in order to complete registration procedures.
